Hello, The reason check-updates isn't working is that $signatureDirectory is undefined. After changing /usr/lib/f-prot/tools/check-updates line 145 to:
my $signatureDirectory = "/var/lib/f-prot/"; And re-running dpkg --configure f-prot-installer, things started working again.
