Dear Josip, I have already made some patches at home that do prepare separation of parallel from moreutils (as described previously); but these changes do only make sense iff the GNU parallel package is also going to be adjusted (since GNU parallel 'conflicts' with moreutils). I haven't heard anything yet that the proposed solution has a chance to be implemented in the GNU parallel package...
But you're right, it is time to push it a bit further within the next
weeks...
