They did provide the jamvm patch was correctly applied.

Version 8u72-b05-6 built successfully on mips*
Version 8u72-b15-1 failed on mipsel due to the jamvm patch being lost
Version 8u72-b15-2 failed on mips and mips64el due to the wrong gcc version
being used in debian/rules

My local build is still running so I can't give you a 100% positive
answer but given the debdiff between 8u72-b15-1 and 8u72-b15-2 is quite
small and that 8u72-b15-1 built successfully on mips64el, I am quite
confident the build will be successful.

It does break often yes, but not all build failures should be attributed
to upstream issues. In fact the last two were actually packaging issues.
