Package: nautilus Version: 2.10.1-5 Severity: normal
I have checked this bug after a dist-upgrade from sarge to etch. I suppose it may happen in new etch systems as well. With default preferences (show hidden and backup checkbox not checked), you cannot see hidden or backup (ended with tilde ~) files in the file browser (Nautilus). In that state, if you tick the show hidden files option in Nautilus main menu, then you can see hidden files, but no backup files. In that state, if you change preferences (show hidden... checkbox checked), backup files remain not shown (you can tick / untick the show hidden... in Nautilus main menu repeatedly, it does not matter). Now, if you close the file browser (Nautilus) and open it again, then you can see both hidden files and backup (*~) files (again, you can untick / tick the show hidden... in Nautilus main menu repeatedly, backup files always appear now when that option is ticked). This behaviour is abnormal. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-1-686 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages nautilus depends on: ii desktop-file-utils 0.10-1 Utilities for .desktop files ii gconf2 2.10.1-6 GNOME configuration database syste ii gnome-control-center 1:2.10.2-1 utilities to configure the GNOME d ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libatk1.0-0 1.10.3-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libaudiofile0 0.2.6-6 Open-source version of SGI's audio ii libbonobo2-0 2.10.1-1 Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libbonoboui2-0 2.10.1-1 The Bonobo UI library ii libc6 2.3.5-8 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libeel2-2 2.10.1-3 Eazel Extensions Library (for GNOM ii libesd0 0.2.36-1 Enlightened Sound Daemon - Shared ii libexif12 0.6.12-2 library to parse EXIF files ii libgail-common 1.8.8-1 GNOME Accessibility Implementation ii libgail17 1.8.8-1 GNOME Accessibility Implementation ii libgconf2-4 2.10.1-6 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglade2-0 1:2.5.1-2 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.8.4-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-desktop-2 2.10.2-1 Utility library for loading .deskt ii libgnome2-0 2.10.1-1 The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomecanvas2-0 2.10.2-2 A powerful object-oriented display ii libgnomeui-0 2.10.1-1 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgnomevfs2-0 2.10.1-5 The GNOME virtual file-system libr ii libgtk2.0-0 2.8.9-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libnautilus-extension1 2.10.1-5 libraries for nautilus components ii liborbit2 1:2.12.4-1 libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpango1.0-0 1.10.1-2 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpopt0 1.7-5 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii librsvg2-2 2.9.5-6 SAX-based renderer library for SVG ii libsm6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System Session Management ii libstartup-notification0 0.8-1 library for program launch feedbac ii libx11-6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System protocol client li ii libxml2 2.6.22-2 GNOME XML library ii nautilus-data 2.10.1-5 data files for nautilus ii shared-mime-info 0.16-3 FreeDesktop.org shared MIME databa ii xlibs 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System client libraries m ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-9 compression library - runtime Versions of packages nautilus recommends: ii desktop-base 0.3.16 common files for the Debian Deskto ii eject 2.1.4-1 ejects CDs and operates CD-Changer ii nautilus-cd-burner 2.10.2-2 CD Burning front-end for Nautilus -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
