Debian stable users will start reporting bugs for really old releases of vdirsyncer on my issue tracker. And while Debian's documentation may have made this situation extremely clear, apparently nobody reads it. This is already happening with other software.

Hmm. That is very inconsiderate of such users. I would expect users who know how to report bugs to be better educated about where to report them (that is, not to report to upstreams, for example).

Because of this I think having vdirsyncer in Debian Sid only would be a better idea.

That is very sad. Hopefully I will be able to use the sid package as a basis for a backport for my users.
