Provisions for this kind of functionality are being developed in 2.5: http://kdirstat.sourceforge.net/ A new stable version, 2.6, will be uploaded to debian when released.
Another interesting feature could be to be able to read from stdin so that arbitrary file hierarchies could be shown.
