I suspect that disabling MALLOC_PERTURB, reduces the test's coverage. Without MALLOC_PERTURB, maybe a different input file could reproduce the same crash still. Someone could also experience the bug at run-time of some application, while using MALLOC_PERTURB to debug. If that triggers a crash, even if it is some kind of 'false positive', it needs fixing really. I think there are still problems in gdk-pixbuf's handling of large images, and the failures on kfreebsd hint at that. But until it can be demonstrated on Linux as well, I don't expect to attract much interest to the problem upstream. I'd prefer to just wait it out, until there is a new testcase. (I think Dimitro John Ledkov did see this on linux-s390x, but I still don't think it's an architecture most people "care about".) Regards, -- Steven Chamberlain [email protected]
