apt-get source cups-pdf dpkg-source -x cups-pdf_1.7.3-9.dsc cd cups-pdf-1.7.3 then modify src/cups.pdf.h at the line for logging options. dpkg-buildpackage is then used to actually build the package. Alternately, you can try the CUPS-PDF 2.0.3 that is currently available in Unstable. Its logging options can be modified without recompiling, just by editing the configuration file.
