Package: fonts-freefont-ttf Version: 20120503-4 Severity: normal Hi! I'm afraid that the Braille range (U+2800..U+28FF) is useless. At typical font sizes you get nothing but greyish rectangles (https://savannah.gnu.org/file/braille10.png?file_id=37026), barely recognizable at size 16 (96 DPI, full sub-pixel AA), recognizable without difficulty at 22+ish.
DejaVu does include good glyphs for this range, but for some reason not in mono (despite these characters all having fixed width), which means it's FreeMono that gets substituted. Same for NotoSansSymbols-Regular (Recommended: by gimp, ghostscript, cinnamon, task-chinese), as well as a bunch of other fonts that don't get installed by default.
