Given that codesearch wasn't reliable enough, I had a look at a lintian check; but I think it's going to be almost impossible to come up with a check which is accurate; it's either going to end up with too many false negatives, or too many false positives. As an alternative, how would people feel about just patching the current rename with a deprecation warning for one release cycle, and removing it from the perl package in stretch + 1?
