Package: libcec3v4 Version: 3.1.0+dfsg1-4~bpo8+2 Severity: important Hi,
Since the upgrade of libcec3v4 to 3.1.0, kodi started crashing on me. I'm using kodi from backports on a Jessie system, with libcec3v4 from backports, too. The kodi crashlog contains the following: Thread 1 (Thread 0x7f5b7bf7b700 (LWP 25654)): #0 0x00007f5bb1d7a067 in __GI_raise (sig=sig@entry=6) at ../nptl/sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/raise.c:56 #1 0x00007f5bb1d7b448 in __GI_abort () at abort.c:89 #2 0x00007f5bb1db81b4 in __libc_message (do_abort=do_abort@entry=2, fmt=fmt@entry=0x7f5bb1eaafd3 "*** %s ***: %s terminated\n") at ../sysdeps/posix/libc_fatal.c:175 #3 0x00007f5bb1e3dcf7 in __GI___fortify_fail (msg=msg@entry=0x7f5bb1eaafbb "stack smashing detected") at fortify_fail.c:31 #4 0x00007f5bb1e3dcc0 in __stack_chk_fail () at stack_chk_fail.c:28 #5 0x00000000011df159 in PERIPHERALS::CPeripheralCecAdapter::OpenConnection() () #6 0x00000000011e3034 in PERIPHERALS::CPeripheralCecAdapter::Process() () #7 0x00000000012582ff in CThread::Action() () #8 0x00000000012585b9 in CThread::staticThread(void*) () #9 0x00007f5bba5c80a4 in start_thread (arg=0x7f5b7bf7b700) at pthread_create.c:309 #10 0x00007f5bb1e2d87d in clone () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/clone.S:111 Downgrading libcec3v4 from 3.1.0+dfsg1-4~bpo8+2 to 3.0.1+dfsg2-9~bpo8+1 (from snapshots) fixed the issue. In contrast, downgrading to 3.1.0+dfsg1-4~bpo8+1 did not. Since there's a new upstream version involved, my guess is that an inadvertent ABI change was made. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=nl_BE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=nl_BE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system)
