https://bugs.debian.org/809410 appears to be a report of a system with a mix of packages from different distros. fakechroot is known to not work correctly if the versions of libc differ across the host environment and the chroot environment. it sounds to me like you might be running into this issue, but i can't reproduce the situation you describe. i'm closing this bug because we don't expect debirf to build a guest with libc version X on a system that has libc version Y (where Y != X).
