After playing a bit with the issue, I noticed that the Flash installation fails because the script that gets the current upstream version number times out while trying to download Adobe's main page. Increasing the timeout of the wget command used (line 37, get-upstream-version.pl) fixed the issue. Also, this is not grave, as it only affects users with really lousy Internet connections.
