Package: libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 Version: 2.12.2-1 Severity: normal Each time a new audio or video file is loaded and starts playing, or each time that their volume is set from inside the browser, the computer's sound output level gets set to its maximum value. This bug seems to be inherent to WebKit and not specific to any library using it, and does not seem to happen with any non-WebKit web browser.
This has been corroborated by testing in GNOME Web, Midori (using the package libwebkitgtk-1.0-0 version 2.4.11-1) and QupZilla (with libqt5webkit5 version 5.5.1+dfsg-2+b1); and also in Firefox ESR and Chromium, where the bug could not be reproduced. I am using the latest available GNOME desktop (Shell 3.18.1-1) with ALSA 1.0.27+1 and PulseAudio 8.0-2+b2. The bug was sent to this buglist because I cannot find or test the error outside Debian and this package is possibly the most relevant version of WebKit available on it.
