It can also happen that old/complex files, saved in a old freecad version not fully supported by newly freecad version. Try to save them in another format, if it is possible, and open again in a new version. Maybe upstream people can help more on this problem. You can get all versions of freecad on snapshots.debian.org if you need to downgrade it. Cheers Anton
