As a side effect of fixing #606158 / adding a new EATMYDATA variable, it seems that now a pre-installed eatmydata is removed from the chroot on upgrades when EATMYDATA=no (added to $REMOVEPACKAGES in /usr/lib/pbuilder/pbuilder-modules).
