Since Icedove 45, attempting to install an add-on that requires a browser restart fails with (at the time of restart): ERROR: Unable to read add-on manifest / NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE The problem is exactly identical to that of Firefox 45 ESR -> http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=827591 The problem is known from upstream (for firefox) as: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1277295 I can confirm that applying (to icedove) the patch mentioned at: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1277295#c17 DOES solve the problem. I would be nice considering integrating this fix in Debian patches series.
