I've investigated a possible jessie-backport of git-buildpackage-0.7.5, but I'm not sure if backporting stretch's bash-completion is allowed or desired. I looked into this because I'd really appreciate having the --merge-mode=replace feature for git-import-orig, which I'd like to use in combination with --uscan. If it's not too much work, would you please consider backporting this feature? Alternatively, please let me know if a backport of 0.7.5 and associated dependencies is more desirable.
