thanks piuparts is failing for the same reason with the ttf-unifont package. The end of the piuparts output is:

I used debuild with no arguments to create ".deb" files from the main "unifont" directory, then I ran "sudo /usr/sbin/piuparts" with no arguments on the ttf-unifont ".deb" file to produce the above error.
