Package: libxklavier10 Version: 2.0-0.3 Followup-For: Bug #347557 upon gnome startup I get the same message as all of you here: ------------------------------------------------------------- Error activating XKB configuration. It can happen under various circumstances: - a bug in libxklavier library - a bug in X server (xkbcomp, xmodmap utilities) - X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation
X server version data: The X.Org Foundation 60900000 If you report this situation as a bug, please include: - The result of xprop -root | grep XKB - The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The results of the commands above are: $ xprop -root | grep XKB _XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "xorg", "pc105", "us", "", "" _XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xorg", "pc105", "us", "", "" $ gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd layouts = [lt us] model = pc105 overrideSettings = false options = [lv3 lv3:ralt_switch,grp grp:alts_toggle] The problems are: 1) this dialog is annoying (although informative for the first time). 2) gnome does not set "Lithuania US keyboard with Lithuanian letters" As temporary workaround I will add "setxkbmap lt -variant us" into gnome-session-properties startup. It works and fixes the second problem but the first one still persists. Hope it helps to get your favorite keyboard back for now. -- System Information: Debian Release: unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-b1 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages libxklavier10 depends on: hi libc6 2.3.5-12 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libx11-6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System protocol client li ii libxkbfile1 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Keyboard Extension file parsing ii libxml2 2.6.23.dfsg.1-0.1 GNOME XML library ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-9 compression library - runtime libxklavier10 recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
