Thanks. But I don't trust my systems to correctly reproduce your high-bit-set octets (which obviously are supposed to be UTF-8) and verifying that by hand is a PITA. So I was hoping for some input test case which does not involve me cutting and pasting bits of emails and hoping that nothing messes up the unicode.
