Package: fai-server
Version: 5.1.2
Severity: normal
Hi,
as already discussed/reported in a thread on the mailing list [1], the NICs on
a system
are labeled differently by the installation system (nfs-root, booted via PXE or
CD) and
the final installed system (target). This results in problems, when interface
names are
processed dynamically. Workarounds have been published on the list, however,
to solve
this thoroughly, the names should be simply the same during installation and
after it.
The problem seems to be not new, however it still seems not to be solved. On a
pure
stretch system (server, nfsroot as well as installed machine), the live system
uses
ethX, the old-fashioned labels, whereas the final system uses the new (stretch)
labels.
Best regards,
Andi
