the intel-microcode packages in unstable/testing or stable-backports
when possible, and report back...
I shall be on-site with this server on Monday. If there's time to:
a) downgrade the BIOS
b) wait to verify that the performance bug returns
c) install the 0x38 microcode
d) wait for performance to regress (potentially)
e) restore the BIOS
I shall, but given that steps b) and d) could take a number of hours,
and I have to leave the machine operational (and a) and e) require being
in front of it), I can't guarantee how much of this will get done.
