Is NEON guaranteed on Ubuntu armhf installations in general? If so, I might want to think about an alternative (and admittedly messier) solution that would let it autodetect NEON there, but solve the specific FTBFS reason, which is that the configure step shouldn't be permitting NEON + double precision in the same build. - Nicholas
