Package: traceroute Version: 1:2.0.20-2+b1 Severity: normal Tags: ipv6 Dear Maintainer,
traceroute ipv6 parameters "-i interface" doesnt work correctly on my Linux router. I'm running BGP daemon on the router. see this example: traceroute6 -i mypeer ipv6.google.com traceroute to ipv6.google.com (2a00:1450:4007:80d::200e), 30 hops max, 80 byte packets connect: Le réseau n'est pas accessible (network unreachable) I have a route in the kernel for this network, and the interface is up and working. if I try with ping6, it works: ping6 -I mypeer ipv6.google.com ping6: Warning: source address might be selected on device other than mypeer. PING ipv6.google.com(par10s21-in-x0e.1e100.net) from 2a06:XXXXXXXXXXXX mypeer: 56 data bytes 64 bytes from par10s21-in-x0e.1e100.net: icmp_seq=1 ttl=55 time=44.1 ms 64 bytes from par10s21-in-x0e.1e100.net: icmp_seq=2 ttl=55 time=44.3 ms so it's not a routing (or DNS) problem, it's related to traceroute6. cheers julien -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.5 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages traceroute depends on: ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u4 traceroute recommends no packages. traceroute suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
