Package: linux-image-grsec-amd64 Version: 9~bpo8+1 Severity: important File: linux-image-grsec
Dear Maintainer, Installing grsec package (specifically linux-image-4.6.0-1-grsec-amd64), resulted in machine stuck in boot after reboot, no debug info provided, no crash log or anything in /var/log after booting again into non-grsec kernel. I don't have test environment to run the Xen hypervisor and try to use the same grsec patched kernel, but I suspect that provided grsec patches do not activate GRKERNSEC_CONFIG_VIRT_XEN which is required for either host or guest when used with Xen. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.5 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 (SMP w/3 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) Versions of packages linux-image-grsec-amd64 depends on: ii linux-image-4.6.0-1-grsec-amd64 4.6.3-1+grsec201607062159+1~bpo8+1 linux-image-grsec-amd64 recommends no packages. linux-image-grsec-amd64 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
