My best guess is that we missed it because xemacs21 doesn't build-depend on perl and we only tested those packages that do. As perl is transitively build-essential via dpkg-dev -> libdpkg-perl, packages can get away without an explicit build dependency. Also, some packages (looks like this includes xemacs21) only need perl-base, which is Essential:yes so no build dependency is fine. Apologies for the inconvenience, -- Niko Tyni nt...@debian.org
