This is still not the case, even upstream: https://github.com/mvo5/unattended-upgrades/blob/master/data/50unattended-upgrades.Debian In the above config, the regular updates are not allowed. I believe this is a mistake - point releases should be followed, by default. I have reported this upstream as well.
