'/run' script is your program.
I suspect 'read' or /bin/sh is trapping or mishandling SIGHUP,
and not dying.
I tried running phenix-shell on its own directly from shell,
and sent SIGHUP, and it behaves weirdly, it does not terminate.
I think it's not something specific to pbuilder, but to your shell script.
