Package: nail Followup-For: Bug #272256 I think it would be an excellent idea. mail (from the mailx package) can't handle UTF-8, or for that matter specify an encoding in the header. That means scripts that use it on a system with UTF-8 as the default locale can write unreadable e-mails. It has been reported as bug #282534. Using nail as the default mail would probably solve that problem.
