On second thoughts, maybe this bug is still relevant? I've just seen this bug: #775723 grub2-yeeloong: cannot work with 3A laptop I wasn't actually aware that there was a 3A Yeeloong, but if that is the case and it works with grub2 then adding mips64el support and the other things in your patch would still make sense.
