Reasons: 1) There are still a lot of programs out there that are written in python2 and migrating all of them to python3 is quite a lot of work. 2) Debian's default python is still python2. 3) Most modules are still provided for both python2 and python3. You had said that you would accept a patch, but then closed the bug as wontfix. Will you still accept a patch?
