Package: zfsutils-linux Version: 0.6.5.8-1 Severity: normal Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer,
Today I noticed that the 'zfs receive' command provided by this package does not support either -x or -o options, which used to be available in the zfs tool from the zfsutils package provided by the ZoL project. These options are not supported in upsteam master branch either (see [1]), but I found that the ZoL packages contained a set of patches that are not currently applied to the packages provided by Debian. I understand that Debian has no obligation to maintain compatibility with packages from an unrelated source, but since the ZoL project does not provide debs anymore, this seems like a common upgrade path, and the lack of certain features could be considered a regression. Would it be possible to review the patches that used to be applied to the ZoL packages and port the applicable ones to Debian? The complete list can be found in [2]. The specific patch adding support for -x, -o and -l options for 'zfs receive' is [3].
