In the core, focus was mostly on mitigating the effects of background jobs on regular cluster operations. In particular the garbage collector has undergone a major rework and you should no longer experience load spikes and temporary node unavailability. Performance in SXFS was further improved with the introduction of a second layer of cache for frequently accessed objects.
