Upstream maintains a number of definitions of __infinity based on a mixture of architecture and platform. However this list is incomplete (does not contain all the Debian architectures), is buggy (FTBFS on Debian alpha) and defaults to some random value. The safest way seems to unconditionally use INFINITY from cmath, what upstream do in there __linux case, which has a lower priority than their __alpha__ case.
