I believe we talked about putting the definition in a header file some time
ago and decided that it's better to keep the contamination localized.

A few things were hindering a new Debian version over the past week that
no longer are: #846088 was filed and we needed to find out its disposition
upstream, I needed to research when SYS_getrandom was added to linux and
how that affected a potential decision to change the default PRNG, and
I had to divert my packaging time to a security update of openafs.
Those are all resolved now, though in the meantime upstream has released
1.15 final, so it seems that some of the packaging work will need to be
redone anyway. But I do not know of any blockers other than maintainer time
anymore.
