It looks like idnkit isn't packaged. Bug 459009 was an RFP that made no progress. libidn2-0-dev exists, but that seems to be an alternate library. I've heard that Red Hat have a patch for bind to use it, so to go in that direction we'd need to look into whether this would be acceptable for us. > It would be great to get false error "not found" for IDN domains > resolved. I'm not commenting on whether IDN would be appropriate to enable or not I don't know enough about it without doing further research. But, it would be appear that we're blocked anyway by a lack of idnkit in Debian, _or_ we have to decide to patch bind9.
