Package: closure-compiler Version: 20130227+dfsg1-8 Severity: wishlist It was brought to my attention that there were closure-compiler warnings in my code while i did not get any at all in Debian. Turned out the Debian is so very old and simply does not do many of the checks and optimizations that were added in the many updates of the closure-compiler since the very old 2013-02-27 version bundled with Debian.
I checked Jessie backports and unstable for a newer version but found none. I manually downloaded and tried latest version from https://github.com/google/closure-compiler and found out that it has huge improvements over the very old version buldled with Debian, so if possible please upgrade the old version that is bundled with Debian. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.6 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386, armel Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages closure-compiler depends on: ii default-jre-headless [java6-runtime-headless] 2:1.7-52 ii java-wrappers 0.1.28 ii libclosure-compiler-java 20130227+dfsg1-8 ii openjdk-7-jre-headless [java6-runtime-headless] 7u111-2.6.7-2~deb8u1 closure-compiler recommends no packages. closure-compiler suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
