Apologies, I was too hasty. The behaviour is not quite what I described; sometimes it doesn't do that. However, I'd still like the option not to do it at all, and it would help if the behaviour was documented, because I haven't figured it out yet ...
I'm not sure now whether it restricts my options or not. If not, this bug should be reclassified wishlist, I guess. Thanks Richard
