The init script should fail with an error message, visibile to the user

Is this sensible wish honoured by other packages in init.d?

$ /etc/init.d/postfix start
Starting Postfix Mail Transport Agent: postfixrm: cannot remove
`etc/localtime': Permission denied
chmod: changing permissions of `etc/localtime': Operation not permitted

I am all for it, but before you start mass-filing wishlists, maybe
bring this up on the -devel list?

I wasn't massfilling, but filed this at the request of the maintainer, based on a suggestion I made to him.

On a lighter note, at least postfix shows something; "Permission denied" and "Operation not permitted" at least give you a clue, spampd fails silently, simply saying "Starting spampd...done".
