Please provide us with the output of: (lspci ; lspci -n) | sort you can run this in 2nd console when running the installer. Please paste the part relevant to your HD controller. If you know which kernel module supports this controller, please mention it to us...booting a Knoppix Live CD could help for knowing this (assumign your HD is supported in Knoppix). Also confirm that your HD is not detected *in the installer* and not later, when the installed system is rebooted.
