Thanks for reminding me of that.

The branch in the collab-maint repositories not only contains the new version, 
it also has new packages because I tried to split up the original profanity 
package.

Unfortunately, I was only partially successful with this. I created a separate 
package for profanity-themes, although this is only cosmetically because the 
size of these is negligible.
I also tried fixing #838232 [1], but got stuck due to #862 [2]

Anyway, give me a weekend and I'll try to isolate the new version and let 
Dariusz know he can merge it.
