The problem it solves, distributing sound encoding, is long since history, an even the lowliest phone can encode way faster than realtime; on a modern desktop encoding an album single-threaded takes faster than you'd need to type all the arguments to "parallel". The notion of running a bunch of servers just to encode static audio files is laughable...
