Poppler is linked to from the backend /usr/lib/evince/4/backends/libpdfdocument.so. > anyway. running atril or evince does not show the micro sign. I could be wrong about how poppler's build system works, but I think the way the cairo backend is linked, you might need an updated libpoppler-glib instead of libpoppler.
