Package: quota
Version: 3.12-6
Severity: normal

Hello,

On one of my systems I've got a bunch of entirely numeric usernames,
like "7145". These have unrelated uids. Don't shoot me, this was already
present before I got here :) Numeric usernames work just fine with most
things, but quota fails on them. It thinks I mean a uid when I call
'quota 7145' and tries to display the quota of the nonexistant user.

Maybe this heuristic can be changed to the following: when the parameter is
numeric, check if that's an existing username. If so, treat it as a
username, else treat it as a uid.

Thanks,
Thijs
