In the past, if you passed an xwd file in on stdin using a command like convert - /tmp/bar.jpg it worked. It still works if you do convert xwd:- /tmp/foo.jpg. What seems to have broken is the autodetection of xwd from file. as an example convert baz.xwd baz.jpg # works hartmans@permutation-city:tmp(3)> convert baz baz.jpg convert-im6.q16: no decode delegate for this image format `' @ error/constitute.c/ReadImage/504. convert-im6.q16: no images defined `baz.jpg' @ error/convert.c/ConvertImageCommand/3258. hartmans@permutation-city:tmp(4)> file baz baz: XWD X Window Dump image data, 113x23x8 hartmans@permutation-city:tmp(5)> I'd expect that the second would have also worked using file to detect xwd and then using that type.
