And just as a further comment: one of the reasons we want this is that
it is much easier to be sure that source is always available is when it
is always available, even for artifacts that /should/ not be used.  And
when reviewing one doesn't have to try and figure out if it will be used
or not.

It often turns out they are used after all (by accident) as it looks to
be the case here as well.
