Just so you know, mplayer2 is dead and will not be part of the next release of Debian and if the bug was in mplayer2 itself it would likely not be fixed. It would be useful to know how it died. Is there anything earlier in the syslog? It would also be useful to know if the file worked with a recent version of ffmpeg. To do that you would have to install ffmpeg from jessie-backports and play the file with ffplay. Thanks, James
