Hey, I just got upstream to look through the bugreports and help me weed them out, and got a comment for this ancient one:
* Colin Watson <cjwat...@debian.org> [2007-08-29 14:26:24 CEST]: > Sometimes irssi gets confused and forgets how to autocreate windows. > Today this happened to me for the second time (the first time I gave up > and restarted irssi). I was attempting to '/join -window' a channel > after reconnecting to a server following a prolonged network outage. > Just before I hit enter, a reconnection to a different server happened > to fire and the selected network changed on me (I don't know if this is > relevant). In the status window I saw: > > 10:18 -!- Irssi: critical window_item_add: assertion `item->window == NULL' > failed Can you install the debug package (irssi-dbg in stable, and for stretch/unstable the automatically built irssi-dbgsym one), step into gdb and p that item's window to debug it further? That would help upstream a lot. In case it still happens to you with current versions. :) Thanks a lot!
