Only for the record, because this bug seems to effect only ardour-versions not in Debian (yet): As pointed out in the ardour-forum (https://community.ardour.org/node/14361) this bug seems to be caused by a new version of libcairo used in the upstream sources of ardour-5.8. In the nightly-builds after 5.8 upstream returned to the old version from ardour-5.5 and at least in 2.8.211 the bug is gone.
